Chronic Pain Management
Chronic pain is pain that lasts longer than 3 months and can be caused by a variety of diagnoses but in women the most common are fibromyalgia, RA, chronic pelvic pain. The standard of care for treating pain often does not work well for patients in chronic pain because their bodies can not move as quickly or with the intensity that traditional physical therapy often requires. Patients in chronic pain often need to learn how to move safely within the parameters of their body in a safe and structured process. It is possible to retrain the nervous system from sending pain signals erroneously or to decrease the intensity and frequency of pain.
Endometriosis
Endometriosis is an inflammatory disease that affects not only the reproductive organs of women, but often also affects the bowel, bladder, ureters, kidneys, appendix, and even diaphragm. Patients respond best with a multi-disciplinary intervention which addresses reproductive function, pain, nutrition, and mental health.
